Individual attributes when working within a team for the development of collective goals that benefit a community or group

There are a lot of TV shows now built around challenges.  Sometimes people need to work on their own to benefit their team/group, and other times people need to work together to achieve a goal.  There are always individual attributes being put in place…..usually good, sometimes not.
